MIA SOTO '24

President

Mia is a senior at the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business, where she is majoring in real estate and minoring in leadership studies. Born and raised in San Diego, Mia has fallen in love with the world of real estate and ambitiously plans to pursue a career in commercial real estate brokerage or development. Over the past few years, Mia has become involved with real estate by serving as a marketing/social media manager for multiple real estate companies. In addition to her position as president of the Real Estate Society, Mia also serves as vice president of inclusion in her sorority, Pi Beta Phi. She is a Real Estate Impact Scholar and looks forward to leading the Real Estate Society in her role as president for the 2023-2024 academic year. Outside of USD, Mia enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, hiking and watching motorsports.

AARON GLASPELL '24

Vice President

Jason Glaspell is a senior at the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business. He is majoring in real estate and finance and minoring in entrepreneurship. Jason was born and raised in Southington, Connecticut, where he was drawn to real estate due to its opportunistic culture and competitive spirit. He is currently an intern with the capital markets team at Berkshire, a multi-family investment company based out of Boston. During his time at Berkshire, Jason has performed industry research to gain competitive intelligence as well as assist the team in their CRM and outreach processes. Previously, he served as CFO for USD's Student Finance Association and as the treasurer of his fraternity. In his senior year, Jason plans to earn his CA Real Estate Salesperson License and intern for a local real estate firm.

GRACE CASSAR '25

Vice President of Events

Grace Cassar is a sophomore at the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business, where she is majoring in real estate and finance. Grace was born and raised in Ventura County, CA, where she was initially exposed to real estate through her parents' involvement in the industry. Grace is currently an intern at Hammer and Hampel, a multifamily apartment syndication company. She held an internship with JLL’s Capital Markets team in Summer 2023, where she was able to grow her real estate knowledge and skills. She is an active member in her business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and is an executive member in her sorority Gamma Phi Beta. Outside of USD, Grace enjoys cooking, hot yoga, reading and spending time at the beach. 

ZED TRUONG '24

Co-Vice President of Industry & Community Relations

Zed Truong's interest in real estate sparked when he completed his first deal, which involved raising a small amount of capital to acquire a single family rental in San Diego. Zed realized that he enjoyed every aspect of the acquisition process and decided to pursue a long-term career in the field. As VP of Industry & Community Relations for the Real Estate Society, he hopes to continue adding value to the local real estate community at the University of San Diego and further facilitate insightful events and share career opportunities to the student body.

CAROLINE DUDA '24

Co-Vice President of Industry & Community Relations

Caroline (Carrie) Duda is a junior at the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business majoring in real estate and business administration. Born and raised in Orange County, CA, Carrie knew since early in high school that she wanted to pursue real estate and is the reason she chose USD. She has been a member of the Real Estate Society since her sophomore year and has attended many of the events hosted by the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. Caroline is excited to provide members of the Real Estate Society with opportunities to learn about the industry and network with professionals. In Fall 2022, Carrie passed her CA Real Estate Salesperson license exam. Aside from the Real Estate Society, Carrie is the president of her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma. In her free time, Carrie enjoys cooking, going to the beach and learning how to golf at the driving range. After graduating in May 2024, Carrie plans to start working for a firm as a commercial real estate broker in San Diego. 

ETHAN GAHM '24

Co-Vice President of Finance

Ethan Gahm is a senior at the University of San Diego Knauss School of Business. He is pursuing a double major in real estate and finance. Originally from Olympia, WA, Ethan's passion for developing new properties led him to focus on real estate. During the Covid pandemic, Ethan obtained his Washington Real Estate Salesperson's License and gained experience within the residential side of the industry. Ethan enjoys the relationship-building and negotiation aspects of real estate, as well as the competitive nature of the business. He has worked for a senior living developer and later transitioned into Airbnb management and residential brokerage. After graduation, Ethan plans to specialize in multifamily development and management in San Diego. He intends to obtain his CA Real Estate Salesperson's License and use his knowledge and experience to succeed in the industry. In his free time, Ethan enjoys outdoor activities, including pickleball, golfing, snowboarding and spending time at the beach.

JACK HELSTEN '24

Co-Vice President of Finance

Jack Helsten is a senior at the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business, where he is pursuing a double major in real estate and finance. He was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. Jack loves the competitive spirit of commercial real estate, but what drew him to the field was the "old school" business practices of integrity, hard work and interpersonal relationships. He currently interns on a Capital Markets and Investment team, focusing on the industrial and office market. He plans to earn his real estate license in Summer 2023. During his time at USD, Jack was a student-athlete on the football team and is now an active member of his business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. Jack has a passion for sports. He enjoys connecting with people and spending time surfing, fishing, golfing, playing football, basketball, volleyball, and ping pong. Upon graduation in May 2024, Jack plans to ambitiously pursue a career in commercial real estate.

VINCENT HESTAD  '24

Vice President of Research & Outcome

Vincent Hestad is a real estate and marketing major at the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business. He has gained experience as a mergers and acquisitions intern for California Business Advisors. Vincent has a passion for research and data analysis. He is actively involved in the Real Estate Society at USD. In his role as vice president of research and outcome, Vincent plans to promote evidence-based decision-making and accountability within the student-led organization. In addition to being a part of the Real Estate Society, Vincent is a founder of USD'  cycling club. Vincent hails from Seattle, WA. In his free time, Vincent enjoys  exercise, cooking, bikes and art.

KALISSA VILLALUNA  '24

Co-Vice President of Marketing

Kalissa (Kali) Villaluna is double majoring in real estate and marketing. She hails from Pasadena, CA and Kali has always had an interest in pursuing a career in real estate. Throughout her time at USD, Kali has enjoyed being active in organizations, including serving as Kappa Delta’s vice president of recruitment & marketing and co-vice president of membership in the professional business fraternity Phi Chi Theta. Additionally, Kali recently joined two real estate organizations, CREW San Diego and IREM, where she serves on both of their student committees. During Kali's senior year, she aspires to attain the CA Real Estate Salesperson License and have solidified an internship in the commercial real estate industry. In her free time, Kali enjoys spending time with  family and friends, and going to the beach to enjoy the sunsets.

JENNIFER LABOSKY '24

Co-Vice President of Marketing

Jennifer Labosky was born and raised in San Jose, CA. She is a junior at USD, pursuing a double major in real estate and marketing. She transferred to USD in her sophomore year and found her interest in commercial real estate through her first real estate class (Principles of Real Estate). Thereafter, Jennifer has engaged with the industry and community through the Burnham-Moores for Real Estate's events and mentorship program. Jennifer is the first scholarship recipient for student membership at BOMA San Diego and she serves as a member on Boma's Emerging Young Professionals Committee. Jennifer is also a student member of IREM.

RIANNA BATRA '24

Co-Vice President of Professional Organizations

Rianna Batra is a senior at the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business and is pursuing a double major in real estate and finance. Her passion for real estate began when she obtained her Real Estate Brokerage license in Colorado during her freshman year and she worked on deals alongside her father. Rianna’s experience in the commercial real estate sector began when she interned with local San Diego firm HP Investors. Since then, she has participated in real estate case competitions with American Realty Advisors and Project Destined. Additionally, Rianna earned the Danielle Piore Woman in Real Estate Scholarship. She is the treasurer of the Sigma Eta Pi Entrepreneurship Colony at USD and is eager to serve in her position as vice president of professional organizations in the Real Estate Society. Outside of school, Rianna enjoys powerlifting, cooking and exploring new places.

ADAM FRANCIS '24

Co-Vice President of Professional Organizations

Adam Francis is a senior at the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business, where he is pursuing a double major in real estate and finance with a minor in Spanish. Adam grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and is a third generation realtor. He was drawn to real estate after shadowing his father during Summer 2021. Adam is currently interning under the development team at the corporate headquarters of Realty Income. Aside from his involvement in the Real Estate Society, Adam also holds an executive position as external vice president in the Lambda Chi Alpha. In that role, he leads the philanthropic efforts of his fraternity. Adam plans to obtain his California Real Estate Salesperson license in Summer 2023. During his senior year, Adam aspires to diversify his experience in the industry by taking on a role in real estate finance or capital markets. Outside of school, Adam's interests include skiing, surfing, scuba diving and traveling.

Nick Baldwin '24 MSRE Part-time

MSRE Representative 

Nick has worked in commercial real estate for the last eight years as a broker, property manager and most recently, as the program coordinator for lease administration at the City of San Diego. In this role, Nick is focused on leasing and management of City-owned properties and the supervision of his property agent’s portfolios. Nick is pursuing the MSRE degree to obtain a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the real estate industry. He also hopes to create a network of like-minded professionals who are equally passionate about creating a more equitable and inclusive real estate industry in San Diego and beyond. Nick was born and raised in the San Francisco, Bay Area and enjoys exercise, travel and spending time with his wife and dog.

JACQUELINE GREULICH '85

Advisor, Real Estate Society; Associate Director, Real Estate Student and Career Services

Jacqueline Greulich '85 is responsible for connecting undergraduate and graduate real estate students with professionals within the commercial and residential real estate industry. She oversees the coordination of student mentorships, internships and career placement initiatives. Greulich brings to the BMC more than 20 years of experience within the commercial real estate industry, including positions with Westcore Properties and Burnham Real Estate (now Cushman & Wakefield). She is an alumna of USD and Lead San Diego 2001. She is a recipient of the TWIN YWCA award and is a board member of Alpha Project and San Diego Center for Children.

JOHN DEMAS

Faculty Advisor, Real Estate Society; Professor of Practice in Real Estate

Professor Demas currently teaches undergraduate real estate courses as well as a graduate Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) course.  He is passionate about using engaging stories to convey complex concepts with thought provoking “word picture” illustrations – building rapport, forging alliances, and blazing paths to the undiscovered, underappreciated, and undervalued. His strategic leadership approach mobilizes people and assets.  Professor Demas also serves as a strategic advisor, trustee and director of select privately held organizations.
