CALIFORNIA REAL ESTATE LICENSE INFORMATION
The mission of the California Department of Real Estate is to safeguard and promote the public interests in REAL ESTATE MATTERS through licensure, regulation, education and enforcement.
Positions that require a real estate license include: residential and commercial sales, property management, loan sales and leasing of commercial real estate.
SALESPERSON LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
USD real estate students have most likely completed two out of the three course requirements. Real Estate Practice must be taken at an approved real estate online or in-person institution. Please refer to the links below for documents.
Successful completion of three college-level courses is required to qualify for a real estate salesperson examination:

BROKER LICENSE REQUIREMENT
USD Real Estate majors or minors and MSRE graduates are exempt from the required two years of work experience with a salesperson license. USD courses may satisfy between four to five of the eight-course requirements. USD does not offer Real Estate Practice, which you must take at an approved real estate school (see link below for approved schools). Depending on the elective real estate courses you took while at USD makes a difference on which courses the Calif. DRE will accept.
